PVC composite with crushed rice straw

Granzplast

The objective is to use rice straw – usually burned as waste – as a raw material to produce a PVC composite. There are currently different types of Wood Plastic composites (WPC) on the market, most of them based on polyolefins, and to a lesser degree on PVC, and with various natural fibres. The Granzplast project proposes to take advantage of the rice straw, and once dried and cut, to make a natural PVC composite, constituting a better environmental option than burning it. This project is in development, using same blending processes and processing technologies already carried out by Granzplast for other kinds of natural fiber-PVC composites that had been manufactured from other natural fibres.
