Continental’s “nature base” collection with standard skai® Evida has been a long-lasting success, using natural and renewable raw materials. The certified organic cotton substrate stands as a symbol of growing environmental awareness. The objective of the project was to further increase and pursue green and sustainable manufacturing for our “nature base” products. By adjusting the formulation of suitable raw materials, it was possible to increase the content to over 90% by weight. This results in a reduction of the carbon footprint value of the product by more than 15% compared to standard skai® Evida. The life cycle analysis (LCA) calculation was performed in comparison with the standard product.
